Common questions

Is this really a one-time purchase?

That is the planned model, but no purchase is available during beta. Each edition would cover one tax year with no subscription or automatic renewal. The catalog currently reserves a 25% loyalty discount for a later tax-year edition; that offer is not active until sales are enabled.

Why air-gapped?

Tax computation and workspace files are local by default, with no product telemetry. Ollama uses loopback on your computer. If you explicitly enable Groq, the text you enter and a summarized tax context are sent to Groq. Custom AI endpoints are currently disabled.

Does AirGapTax e-file directly with the IRS?

No. AirGapTax currently generates a draft estimate or worksheet for review. It is not an official IRS form, a print-ready packet, or a fileable return. You are responsible for preparing and filing through an appropriate filing method after independently verifying every figure.

Do I need to buy extra states?

The planned catalog assigns 1 state to Complete, 3 to Pro, and 5 to Elite, only when those states are actually available. Planned additional states are $19 each. No state entitlement is currently being sold.

Can I add a human CPA review?

Not currently. The catalog reserves a $149 review add-on and a matching Elite credit, but no CPA partner workflow is presently offered or included.

What if I need a refund?

No sale can be completed while beta mode is active. Any future sale will be governed by the terms shown at checkout at that time.

How do I get my license key?

When sales are enabled, the planned flow emails a signed license to the checkout address. The desktop app validates that license locally without a server activation call.

How many devices?

The current offline license implementation does not enforce a server-counted three-device limit. Future device policy will not be advertised until it is technically enforced and reflected in the terms.
